About Liopetri
Liopetri is one of the RED SOIL villages. Called so, because of the very fertile soil. The majority of most fruits and vegetables are grown in these villages.
The potatoes are delicous and creamy, Yummie!!
The best thing about living on this beautiful Island? You have the opportunity to eat fruits and vegetables which are in season. It's absolutely delicious, because it's not forced.
Liopetri is a typical working village with all the usual shops, banks, restaurants, bars, schools, nurseries etc. The people in the village are very friendly and helpful.
There is a local market just outside of Liopetri towards Sotira which is very good for locally produced fruit and vegetables at reasonable prices. And if your lucky, you may be able to get your hands on some fresh eggs too.
Liopetri is fairly central to other towns and villages. It's approx. 5km to Xylofagou Other villages isuch as Avgorou, Frenaros, Sotira. Agia Napa are around 10km and Parlimni which is a large town with masses of shops and several large supermarkets including Carrefour and Cypriot suppermarkets Orphanides and Kokkinos.
We will soon have a Lidl store which is being built at present. I think it's due open in around 2-3 months. I'll keep you posted.
