SAVE MONEY My Money Saving Tips
How to Save Money... My Tips
Saving money, is my number one goal in life, thanks to the current global recession.
The financial institutions we all put our trust in to keep our money safe were in fact gambling it away.
It is terrifying to think that within 1 year, the financial sector has done a vertical "nose dive", taking our hard earned money with them. While we - as usual - are left to fend for ourselves.
When I found out that the interest rate on our savings, which was the main part of are income here in Cyprus; dropped from 6% to 0.1% it was a major shock.
So I decided we would have to be more aware of our spending habits and concentrate on what was essential and what we can live without.
My new moto... Frugal Living,
I think its time for you and me to take control of our own finances.
Between us, we could start a grand money saving tips community,...

Time to Cut Unnecessary Spending
I think I can safely say that we are all guilty of spending on lots of unnecessary things.
It's time to "pull in the horns" so to speak...
I have found many ways to save money. Here's were I started...
Conscious Food Shopping
Food is the one thing we can't do without.
Food producers, supermarkets and the dreaded STOCKMARKET have made billions from us.
It's time for us to make a dramatic change in our shopping habits.
Most importantly..., STOP WASTING FOOD!!
My Frugal Shopping Habits...
When I go shopping to the supermarket or more often than not now I will shop at the local groceries store or mini market stores in town and buy my fruit and veg from the Saturday market. I consciously look for whats on offer first. If there's an offer on that is too good to miss, I'll buy more than one, depending on what it is and how often I would use it.
A word of warning, "DON'T BUY SOMETHING YOU WOULDN'T NORMAL BUY JUST BECAUSE IT'S ON OFFER!! You'll just be wasting your pennies. Focus more on how to save money, not throw it away.
Sometimes there are great bargains to be had but again, focus on scouring the shelves for special offers. Plan your meals around special offers, not before your trip to the shops, you can definely save money this way.
A word of caution!!...
I have notices that some "buy 1 get 1 free" offers aren't really offers at all. The prices can be marked upwards on the item. So your not actually getting a bargain at all. Keep this in mind the next time you go shopping.
Many supermarkets are playing sneaky games. They've made to many billions from us all in the past. Now their playing mind games, making us believe they are helping us cut grocery costs, when in actual fact we're not!!
Be a Smart Shopper!!
Plan your meals around special offers. It's certainly made a big different to my shopping bill.
Saving money on you electricity bill.
Buy low energy bulbs for every room.
Turn off lights in empty rooms.
Buy energy saving heaters. You can save 30-40% on heating the rooms you use.
Turn all electrical switches off before bedtime.
When making a tea or coffee, only boil enough water to make your drink. Boiling a full kettle of water every time, takes longer and will cost you more.
